Make sure your files are accessible (pop in the cd, open up your U or H drive file folder, download the files from your email-- whatever you need to do)

![]() You will see a listing of folders (at this point, "_private" and "images") on your left; on your right you will see a light green area with "To create a home page..." written in the center. |
![]() FrontPage will create a Home Page for you. You can change the title for this page later, but the file name must always be index.htm (or index.html) if you want it to be the first page that visitors access on your site. FrontPage "automagically" saves this file as index.htm. Unless you know what you're doing and have a reason to do so, you should keep that file name. |

Remember the flow chart that you created as part of your preparation? You're going to recreate it by doing the following:
Notice that each time you create a page, it shows up in the folder list to your left. If you can't see the whole layout, right click on the green, Select Zoom > Size to Fit. |
Ok, That was cool. But both the page titles and the file names are meaningless (how will I know that New Page 11 a.k.a. new_page_11.htm is my list of references?). Time to rename.

1. You may also do this by going to File > New > Page or Web > and, from under the New heading, selecting Empty Web
2. This is the local copy you can make changes to-- this "web" is a preview of what you will publish, but until you actually publish it to the web, it is not a "live" website.
