Timeline:
Chapter IV due 11/21
On 11/21, bring in all materials for book *on disk/thumb drive/ CD/ftp’d*, including chapters revised to fit into book format, meaning that references should be brought together, work should be revised for continuity, flow, and consistency (do you change tenses? Voice? Check your sources… are you repeating the same quote over and over? Need to revise!). Save graphics/fonts as well so you can access. What colors will you use for cover art? Do you want color inside? Do you want a “watermark” on each chapter page? What about a drop cap for each beginning chapter paragraph? What purpose will it hold?
In class, we will work on the formatting. You will have to print out the pages on your own, but we can set everything up to go ahead of time.
11/28 Final workshop for book. “Arts and Crafts” in class. If you want my help stapling/binding, bring materials in. Next class, book will be due. Web design next class!
11/30 Book due.
In preparation for this class, you should have started to edit your work intensely! Consider how web sites function– less text, more graphics. Words are “tighter,” more direct. You should review your outlines and consider the order or “tree” for your site. Also consider the colors and graphics that will work best for your site, considering readability, emotional impact, and the like.
