Reminder: Library Instruction Session (switch 2/13 and 2/15; Team Presentations will be on 13th)
Overview of Team Presentations/ Signup
approximately 10 minutes.
you will do TWO this semester
goal is to instruct the class as to your topic.
consider how you best learn
what methods most effective
what type of writing/preparation you will need to do
collaboration/ division of labor (fair)
Possible methods: devise a game, provide handouts, create a group activity. Perhaps multimedia? Welcomed to use classroom resources, bring in other sources.
Grading Criteria: Includes the achievement of and/or accordance with guidelines, expectations, and requirements, plus a consideration of time management, maintaining eye contact, presenting (as opposed to simply “reading”), avoidance of empty words (like, basically, ummm), and cohesion of group’s presentation. Grade goes to entire team. If team member absent (unless documented emergency), does not earn a grade.
Resources:
SMH 10: Oral & Multimedia Presentations
SMH 8: Considering Media
SMH 2: Considering Rhetorical Situations
SMH 6: Collaborating
SMH 15: Conducting Research

SMH 20: MLA Documentation
Sample Formal Outline (SMH p. 442-44)
Sample MLA Works Cited (SMH p. 462-64)
Submission: The group should submit, as a single document the day of the presentation, a formal outline (see SMH 3e for information; sample begins on page 442) of the entire presentation along with an MLA Works Cited (see SMH 20) for the texts researched for the presentation.
