    Review writing for ‘memorable prose.’
    Circle every form of ‘to be’ (is, am, was, were, &c)
    edit for clarity

    Book Intro:

    Elements of Intro. (in no particular order):

  • Define the Problem (see first paragraph of Freire’s “’Banking’ Concept”)
  • Why you? (What is your interest in/ authority on this issue? Consider your repertoires)
  • Perhaps a bit about the research/writing process (obstacles, intentions vs. outcomes, or the like)
  • chapters/organization (incl. chapter titles), and rationale
  • o each chapter’s content (brief overview)
  • For Monday:
    Draft conclusion– what about plans of action? Last minute changes? Ideas?

  • define classifications that will lead readers to goal
  • draw up research plan– how will you demonstrate ‘authority’ to readers?
  • different types of searches– what do I mean by thinking outside the box (cliche!)
