Review writing for ‘memorable prose.’
Circle every form of ‘to be’ (is, am, was, were, &c)
edit for clarity
Book Intro:
Elements of Intro. (in no particular order):
Define the Problem (see first paragraph of Freire’s “’Banking’ Concept”)
Why you? (What is your interest in/ authority on this issue? Consider your repertoires)
Perhaps a bit about the research/writing process (obstacles, intentions vs. outcomes, or the like)
chapters/organization (incl. chapter titles), and rationale
o each chapter’s content (brief overview)
For Monday:
Draft conclusion– what about plans of action? Last minute changes? Ideas?

define classifications that will lead readers to goal
draw up research plan– how will you demonstrate ‘authority’ to readers?
different types of searches– what do I mean by thinking outside the box (cliche!)

Write a brief (one page minimum) “homage” to Griffin, using your topic/problem as purpose/intent. It helps to work out your images/symbols beforehand. You have approximately 20 minutes to complete this.
